How To Make Crystal Bridal Bouquets

Thank You to everyone that has left positive comments, they are greatly appreciated.

Crystal bouquets are sometimes used an alternative to fresh flowers, due to allergies, and they are also a keepsake from your wedding that you will have forever. Crystal bouquets are very beautiful and reflect light. They are expensive because of their beauty, but are also time consuming to create. If you are up for the challenge, here are the instructions.

Supplies needed: Type of beads you want to use, there are many options, such as swarovski crystals, which comes in different shapes, designs and colors. You can also use pearls, and you can find these at craft stores and even wal-mart. Pearls with gold wire is a great collaboration. You will also need floral wire or some call it gauge wire, which will come in different numbers such as 26 gauge, 24 gauge etc, I use 26 because it's flexible and not to thick to handle. The choice is yours, so try different gauges until you find what's comfortable for you to work with. You don't want the wire to be flimsy or to thick. Floral wire comes in silver, gold etc. You will also need wire cutters, wired ribbon, satin ribbon, glue gun, hook/plant hook and a hand held drill. For a medium size bouquet, I measure wire to 40 inches. String bead to middle of wire that was cut to 40 or 45 inches, make ends of wire meet. Place through plant hook and drill, which will twist the wire. You will have a little space left near the top of bead, which I usually twist with my fingers. Continue this process until you have enough to shape a full bouquet. Next you will construct the stem. Holding all the wires together, bend bottom over, or bend into a loop. Use hot glue to secure, lots of glue. Once all the glue has dried, go back to the top of your bouquet and bend each wire into a waterfall shape. If you want a cascading crystal bouquet, it is made with the same construction as a floral cascading bouquet, but it will take more time and wires. To cover the stem of your crystal bouquet, choose what will be the front of your bouquet. Wrap satin ribbon around stem and use wired ribbon to make a bow. If you want streamers, let pieces of ribbon hang down. You can make a full swarovski bouquet, or If you decide to go with a floral bouquet, you can use the swarovski crystal stems and insert them throughout your wedding bouquet, making your own bouquet jewelry. Below are pictures of crystal bouquets I have made. Good Luck and have fun
